Tending the Holy
Caring for Earth,
Caring for Ourselves
On the Sunday afternoon of the weekend that we celebrate Earth Day, we will gather to see all of creation as woven together in holiness, and to remember that we are part of this beautiful web of life. We’ll have opportunities with words, images, and in nature to experience practices that we can take home to encounter the Divine in creation, in ourselves, and in others. Contemplative practices, especially with nature, can help us remember what we might have forgotten – that tending to Earth is tending to ourselves. We will engage in conversation, sharing, reflection, and, weather permitting, spend some time outdoors.
The facilitators of this retreat are Elizabeth Rand, pastor of Monroe Street United Methodist Church, and Barbara Coleman, also from Monroe Street Church.
Sunday: April 23 - 2:00-5:30pm
